Personal Alert Signaling

SpiderAlert

The SpiderAlert system combines dual technology, IR and RF signals, to provide cost-effective, user-friendly and flexible signaling solutions.

Versatile and scalable, SpiderAlert provides real-time emergency signaling and event location for institutional and commercial applications, including healthcare, educational and correctional facilities. SpiderAlert enhances on-site protection, as well as the personal security of individuals.

The SpiderAlert™ solution provides WWWW™ information as follows:

  • Who is wearing the tag/badge? (Identifies the person or equipment)
  • When is the tag/badge holder in a certain location?
  • Where was the tag/badge last detected?
  • What, a unique feature of EIRIS™ enables the LPS system to provide vital status information about tagged entities, including mandown alert and button press features.

System Architecture - Basic System Topology

SpiderAlert is a local-area signaling and controlling network. SpiderAlert components communicate with the on-site monitoring and control center. The system is connected to a central station and computer, where events can be monitored and logged.

Spider Local Control devices (SLCs) are installed in sites throughout the network and monitor various remote devices, such as receivers and input/output devices. The remote devices are connected to an SLC via a bi-directional data bus called SpiderBus. Each SLC site collects alert and service signals from remote bus devices.

The SLC generates event messages and reports them to the monitoring software - the SpiderAlert Manager. The SpiderAlert Manager interprets the event messages, provides the means to handle them, and transfers commands back to the SLC, which sends them over the bus to the devices.

Multiple SLCs, each supervising a separate SpiderBus network, can communicate with a single computer terminal via short-haul, telephone, fiber-optic or wireless modems. The SpiderAlert software can accommodate up to 255 SLC sites. Each site can accommodate up to 255 devices.

SpiderAlert provides various applications which address market needs

Mandown Alert, designed for use in correctional institutions, relays real-time critical information about the identity and location of an officer or staff member requiring assistance, as well as ongoing monitoring of personnel movement throughout the facility.

Artwork Protection systems integrate a network of anti-jamming wireless and wired security components, together with specialized wireless detectors for the protection of diverse types of works of art, to significantly reduce the risk of theft or assault.

Personal Security/Staff Attack solutions, designed for use in a variety of institutional and commercial settings, provide real-time event information about the identity and location of a staff member requiring assistance.
